Ava: 177 weeks old…
Hi there. Our traveling Ava is now 177 weeks old and on the last leg of her awesome road trip. Her week began at Mesa Verde in Colorado. At first she was a little hesitant since it was a little hike into the ruins and out. She wasn’t sure how scary the ladders would be.

But it ends up that the ladders were her favorite part. Go figure!

She did fairly well there considering the heat and the no touching anything rule. A game of ancient hopscotch anyone?

Back at the campsite, she put her new fishing pole to good use in their lakes.

And even tried to catch a cow or two. Do you like my sparkly pants Mrs. Cow?

Next stop… Four Corners. But it was under construction. Booo! But Ava didn’t care. There was jewelry for sale there.

Check out my poser with her new juniper seed bracelet and necklace handmade by the local tribes. Oooolala.

During this trip, Ava has had some trouble keeping her toys out of Mila’s mouth. But not today. Sorry Mila.

Next stop, the Grand Canyon. Ava kept asking if we could walk to the bottom. Yes, I know she is nuts! I told her ‘No way Jose’ but she told me her name is Aba. Oh Aba.

Okay I’ll come out of my hiding spot. You caught me in that last picture.

At the Grand Canyon, Ava noticed a woman posing in between the trunk of this tree. I was totally not paying attention. So when Ava asked me to do the same while she took a picture, I had no clue what she was talking about. Luckily, Ava was kind enough to demonstrate it for me. Like this Mama, okay?

If you ever go see the Grand Canyon, make sure you see it at sunrise or sunset. The colors are amazing!

Ava must have thought the colors at sunset were awesome too because she colored rainbows onto her menu the very next day. Good job Ava!

As we drove into the desert from the Grand Canyon, we arrived in a middle of a heat wave in the desert. The desert is hot enough in June. And a heat wave is not pretty. There is only so much an air conditioner and fan can do to help cool things down. So we made a tough decision and headed home.

We got to our house around 3 am and were too tired to make all the beds. So we just parked the Airstream as we do at a Walmart and slept in it one last night before officially going into our house for good. In the morning, Ava woke up and must have noticed our real palm tree in between our fake palm tree curtains. Because she started to jump up and down on the bed and scream “We’re home. We’re home. We’re home!!!!”

And home we were. First order of business for Ava… her Ariel crown and Mrs. Potato Head.

Then we moved the car seats back into Mama’s car and look what happened. My girls started to hold hands. Oh. My. God. I almost died. Life can’t get much sweeter than this.

Ava was super excited to have a visitor our first day back. Her buddy Deets. She loved playing grocery store with him. That will be $53 please.

Not only was our house sitter kind enough to visit but he also brought Nona’s soup just for Ava. Yummmmm.

Ava also had a blast being back home because our fruit trees were in full bloom. Peaches anyone?

And she was also eager to visit Grace at her house… and slip into her favorite character.

And try one brand new costumes too. Look at that fabulous tan!

She also loved working with Dada in the yard at home too. We need to make room for the Airstream again. Back on the driveway. For now. Sniffle sniffle.
