Our little Ava is 37 weeks old and loves hanging her arm out of car windows.

Who me?

Yes me!

This was the week that Ava turned into a Cheerio eating baby. I wasn’t sure if Cheerios or if Puffs were the best introductory choice so I gave Ava both and had her decide. At first Ava grabbed the Cheerios and somehow held three of them in her pincher grasp.

But the first bite was a Puff, a banana Puff to be exact.

And as expected, funny faces followed. It took a few feeding of Puffs for Ava to get used to the strange texture of this new non-pureed food.

We have a baby book that breaks down milestones, games, physical and mental developments, etc on a week by week basis. So once a week, we try to read the current week’s chapter, especially to spice up the games we play with Ava. So this week, the book suggested that we get a used paper roll and talk to Ava through it. In response she is supposed to mimic us by putting the roll to her mouth and talking through it also. So Dan gave it a try.

Hearing all the silly things her daddy said made Ava laugh. Now it was Ava’s turn.

But no talking occurred once Ava got her hands on it. She thought it was a better idea to bite down and make soggy cardboard. Hmmm. Maybe it reminded her of Puffs.

Ava started handing things to me this week while we were waiting for some dinner. Thank you Ava.

We retired Ava’s floor jungle gym and brought in some new toys she can use.

Dan spent some time showing Ava how the giraffe likes to eat.

She spent a lot of time concentrating.

After her lesson, Ava decided that she liked to eat too.

And chase Yoda out of the box with the ball.

And what was even more fun than that….was crawling with the ball like she had a crawling limp. Silly Ava.

Ava also got a new table that sings songs and talks. It’s tolerable at the moment but we know where the off button is once it get on our nerves.

Ava loves the table. I have two words for you. DJ Ava!!!!

Over the weekend, Grandma Ester and Grandpa Jack drove up for a visit. Ava had fun singing about five little monkeys jumping on the bed…

…having a partner in crime during her Yoda hunts…

…and tricking someone to let her watch TV in her pajamas. Not again.

While we were out shopping, we introduced Ava to the toy machines that will be in her near future. Like runts, bouncy balls and Santos. Ummmm… Santos? Jesus Christ!

We abandoned afternoon photo shoots a while ago so I thought I would give a try again a few days ago. Bad timing. I think Ava needed more snuggle time after her nap rather than posing time.

But once I got the timing right, my laughing baby returned. Yeah.

Daycare is still going great. Ava loves standing next to the tunnel and smiling.

But the smiles stop when her friend Max takes off his pants and eats them. Why Max, why?

Dan got attacked by two babies on Friday. Watch out Dan!

Oh, they just wanted to snuggle.

Alright, time to laugh with Rudy now. See you next week. Ruff Ruff!
