Little Lins!

Ava started a vitamin supplement this week. I guess breastfed babies need a dose of vitamin D in their diet to prevent rickets, which is softening of the bones. As you can see, she really isn’t that fond of it. She ends up spitting most of it out. Hopefully being a southern california baby will make up for the lost vitamin D all over her shirt.

Ava also hung out with every stuffed animal she owns, ET phone home style…

We started bottle feeding Ava this last couple of weeks as mentioned in the last post. It hasn’t been a real smooth transition and we are still working on it as a matter of fact. She doesn’t seem to want to eat from the bottle as she has been accustomed to being breast fed. One thing that does seem to work is for us is to walk around while we feed her. Today she ate almost 3 ozs worth from the bottle which is the most yet. Hopefully it gets easier. Marlene has been going to a mommy class down the street at the maternity store and apparently there are a lot of moms having tons more trouble and some actually started crying in the class. In comparison we are really lucky with Ava.

At seven and a half weeks Ava is starting to really hold her head up for a fair amount of time. She is talking up a storm and able to see 10 feet in front of her. We also have her eating from a bottle once a day so that will be nice for Marlene to be able to take a feeding break from time to time… Check out this video.

Smiles, smiles and more smiles… That was one of Ava’s milestone this week. The smiles before this were gas-related… these new ones just melt your heart because you know she is excited to see you.

She also discovered her thumb. For some reason, she tries to shove it in her mouth during diaper changes.

Novi Split had an article on spin.com this week and little Ava was a very proud niece. Yeah Uncle David!

We also hit farmer’s market with Nicole, Jeremy, Dan D and Grace. Jeremy is addicted to artichokes and Grace loves kettle corn. I’m not sure why Nicle had her eyes closed… that’s usually my job in pictures.
