On New Years Eve, the girls got to hang out with their little buddies. Barba Dan was eager to show the kids how to play his new video games.
Mila was really into it. This pictures cracks me up!
Michelle whipped up a fancy meal for us all. Ava picked out this dessert for the kids table. Yumm.
The kids did their best to stay up super late but by 10pm they were wiped out and asked to go to bed. But not before playing with some poppers.

We stayed up past midnight. Obviously.
And they woke up bright and early. I guess they didn’t get the “please sleep in” memo.
She spent a good chunk of her morning drawing the perfect picture.

Mila was waiting patiently… while repeating “Mila no haircut” over and over again. She is not ready to give up her curls, I guess.

Mila is our brave little girl. She is a tough one. Not scared of anything. Well, almost anything. She is scared of little babies. She doesn’t even want to look at them.
It’s a little silly how she reacts to them. Some people seem to think it’s going to be trouble with another one on the way. But it’s just a phase. She will outgrow it soon enough. And newborns don’t move as much as these two little boy cousins
On New Years Eve day, we met up with Aunts Connie and Catherine for some fun at Downtown Disney. The girls immediately grabbed their hands and were ready to explore!
Ava has been asking to go to New Orleans again… especially because she misses beignets! Lucky for her, we noticed an Orleans restaurant that carried her favorite treat.
This is a picture of Ava chowing down on her very first beignet in New Orleans almost 2 years ago. What a mess! I love that she remembers this moment in her life still. That cross-country trip was awesome.
And this is our beignets today. Not too shabby.
Dan misses New Orleans too. So much so that he even drank a big cafe au lait! That never happens!!
This is Mila trying her first beignet. Not sure if she likes them as much as her big sister.
This is her first beignet because when we were in New Orleans, she was a sleeping baby in the carrier. Barely 6 months old.
Okay. No more reminiscing. Back to today. Look at what the girls got from the Disney store! Ava finally got a Sally the rag doll. She has been asking for one for months and none of the normal Disney stores ever have her in stock. Mila had a hard time deciding what she wanted. She finally picked Mike Wazowski from Monsters Inc… because he makes her giggle.
And as we ended our day at Downtown Disney, Aunt Connie taught the girls the fine art of pin trading. Haha.

Up bright and early. I tried to get a picture with the flash on. But Ava can never open her eyes with the flash on. Haha. And that is Mila whenever she holds owl. His tail under her nose.
How about no flash? Ava was too excited to stay still. She wanted to see if Santa brought the right gifts!!
Yes! Mila got a Wuggle pet, just like she wanted.
And Ava finally got the princess roller skates!!
Whenever Mila opens up a gift that is clothes, she screams ‘take off, take off‘. She must try the new clothes on. Immediately!
She was in love with her new Elmo rain coat.
And the play kitchen was a huge hit.
This was Ava for the most of day. Convincing someone to take her outside so she could skate her heart out.
And after presents, it was time to eat the gingerbread house the girls worked so hard on.
We eventually got out of our pajamas and actually took a nice family picture by the tree.
And we got the cutest sister picture. All together now… AHHHHH.
Then it was time to bust out the paper hats and eat some dinner.
And last but not least, Santa came for a visit… and no one cried!!
